Spring Cleanup

Whew, I love Spring, but, sometimes my back doesn't. I spent all day yesterday, and all this morning, doing cleanup. But, I got the gardens all raked out, finally, the back shed reorganized and a lot of big branches taken off of the linden tree in front of my house. I love that linden tree, but, it naturally grows down towards the ground, so I have to keep after it, every year, so at least some sun gets in. I neglected it last year, along with my gardens because I had just too much going on with my Aunt. So, this year, I have a massive job on my hands. One garden is so bad, that I think that the only thing I can do is tear it all out and replant.

The shed. I'd like to build the chicken coop in the corner where that door is.

The front yard after I got all of the branches off of the tree. I still have to load them up and dump them, but:

1. I'm pooped.
2. The cable people are coming this afternoon and I have to make sure I'm inside to answer the phone, or they won't come. Yes, folks, that's right, the cable is out again. And, this time, I checked to make sure that all of the jacks and plugs were in. We'll see what other stupid thing I overlooked.

One of the gardens. This one will be full of violets first. Then, after the violets are through blooming, there will be lilies of the valley. Two of my favorite Spring flowers.

Now that you've made your shed and gardens all tidy you can come down here and do our, Auntie Louise! hee hee

We have some nice goat and pony poopers that we can bring in a big bag for your gardens!

don't you have a cellphone? get rid of that landline.

about the chicken coop. Some people like to have a real floor but I don't. If you have a dirt floor, then you can keep composting it, layering - chicken poop, pine shavings, chicken poop, pine shavings. Throw in some worms from time to time. Then, every once in a while, you take the compost and throw it on your garden. We get our pine shavings for free at a lumber yard.

Spring cleanup is not my favorite thing especially in my gardens. Still looking at them like they're something that might swallow me up whole and spit me out. LOL
