Product Endorsement and Campers

Mixed bag today. First, I wanted to tell you about something that I tried, and love. I'm always up to trying something new, and I love almonds, so when I heard about Almond Milk, I had to give it a try. I bought Silk Almond Milk, and I tried the vanilla. It was absolutely yummy. Plus it has only 90 calories a cup, is full of antioxidants and fiber and has no cholesterol or saturated fat. I probably won't buy it all of the time, because it's more expensive than milk, plus, you have to drink it within five to seven days of opening, and, in a half-gallon container, that adds up. But, I'm an ice cream freak, especially in the summer, and I think that a glass of this stuff would make a very nice substitute. Try it, you might just like it.

Second, I apparently have new neighbors. Not only are Mr. and Mrs. Canada Goose eating here, but, they have apparently decided that it's a great place to hang out. Sigh, there goes the neighborhood.

And now, one reason it's nice to be retired. If you wake up with a horrible back ache, you can go back to bed with a heating pad and not have to worry about missing an obligation. I feel fine now, but, my day is just starting because of it. Luckily, I wasn't planning a busy day.

I've been hearing great things about Almond Milk but have not tried it yet. I'd love to have the geese hanging out. I used to have a pair of domestic geese, HonkyTonk and Tootsie. We're inexperienced at goat showing, just a new hobby, we will be showing some of the mature goats, out first show is May 15th, in Clemson SC so I'll be blogging about it.

I've been drinking it for a while. My store has Blue Diamond Almond milk and it's so good. Thanks for pointing out that you are supposed to drink it within 7 days. I looked all over my carton and sure enough, that's what it said in a sort of well-hidden place. Wonder what happens if you keep drinking it after that. I know I have and I didn't notice anything bad.

I have wondered how it would do in a recipie where milk is needed and the almond flavor is a nice component. I have a Pear Kuchen that would be knockout if it would work.

I used to love soy milk, till I read scary stuff about soy, so I switched to Almond milk. I haven't seen this Silk brand around, I will have to look for it. Have you tried it in a smoothie yet? it's delicious!
Cute new neighbors :-)
