A Horsey Day

I was off visiting again yesterday. This time I trotted (pun intended) myself down to the Cortland area, to visit a woman who I had come to know from one of the bulletin boards I am on. Her place is called Classic Sporthorses, and she really has some lovely animals. I fell in love with her stallion, Miracle. What a sweet boy! Unfortunately, he was in the barn, so I didn't get a chance to take any pictures of him. Not that it would have probably done any good. Somehow, the setting on my camera slipped after the first two I took, and most of my pictures came out just washes of color. These pictures were taken after a downpour, so things were a bit on the wet side.

Shiny, healthy looking horses. These are mainly broodmares, though the chestnut without a fly mask is a quarter horse gelding.

Yearling pile. If these guys could have gotten any closer to each other, they would have. Somewhere in the middle of this pile is their "den mother." This wonderful mare has taken several orphan foals under her wing over the years, and raised them to be good and proper horses.

I had a wonderful time. We chatted all afternoon, and didn't let torrential rainstorms and a loss of electrical power stop our fun. Thank you Classic Sporthorses, for a very enjoyable visit.

The guys in the pile don't have the fly hoods. I noticed my neighbor's horses were doing the same things yesterday afternoon, tring to keep the flies off.

Looks like you guys are getting lots of rain. Send some our way:)

What a fun day! I love seeing other people's horses. Although none are as beautiful as my own ;)

It is always wonderful to see nice healthy horses.
And as for the rain, send some out this way. We sure could use it. :)
Sounds like you had a glorious day.

That's my kind of day! There's almost nothing better than visiting a good barn.

I was thinking of you yesterday when I was out at the swim-center with Bubba. A beautiful horse was getting his coat clipped--I don't know what you call it, but I'd not seen it done before--It was really interesting to watch and I know the horse will feel better too!!

Lovely photos. The yearlings made me smile.
I'm glad you enjoyed such a wonderful visit...with horses, too.

All you needed was chocolate to make a perfect day! :)
