Summer Deer

This time of year, I don't see many does with fawns in my yard, In August, they'll start bringing the babies around. But, the young bucks are frequent visitors. They scarf up the leftovers under the bird feeder.

And then finish thing off with a lick or two of the salt block.

Once that soft velvet is gone from their antlers, I don't think these two will be quite so companionable.

Oh, that is so sweet! I love looking at deer, they seldom come in our yard when you can take a picture.

Have a great day now!

What great pictures!! I haven't thought of getting a salt-block for the deer, but I did pick up a bale of hay for them that fell off someone's truck and onto the road the other day and took it up into the field for them.

Mount Vernon was great yesterday (I'll post later about it) but you would have loved the gardens, they were really lovely!

What a thrill to have deer visit your back yard. Great pics!
I've never seen deer around our neighborhood, though I know they are in the mountains and forest near our home. I think we have too many fences and dogs for them to come closer.
