An Orchid for Upupaepops

A while ago, I found Epipactis helleborine on the Red Trail. It's not native, but, hey, it's still an orchid! The ones on that trail died, for some reason, but I had figured out that was the "weed" that I had been pulling out of my shade garden for a number of years, and I let some grow. I have been waiting impatiently for them to bloom ever since. They finally have!

Why specifically for Upupaepops? Because she loves orchids, and those of us who read her blog "Meandering Washington" http://meanderingwa.blogspot.com/ know.

So, here they are, not very flashy at all, but intriguing in their own right.

Unusual, don't think I've ever seen it in this area. You should join one of the wild flower clubs, I'll bet you would enjoy it.
