Garden Shots

OK, so the heat and humidity are miserable. At least the flowers seem to like it.

My new garden in back is kind of sparse. But, that is to be expected. It will eventually fill in. In the meantime, it's something to look forward to.

The flowers around my back steps, on the other hand, are doing great

The hydrangeas are loving this moist heat. I have been watering them faithfully since they first leaved out, and they are rewarding me for my efforts now.

The first coneflower. Not quite in full bloom yet.

I can't decide if I like these petunias or not. They add some color to the garden, but, they're kind of blousy.

But, it is really the daylilies' time to shine.

I don't know what the name of this one is. I think it's old, because it doesn't clump nicely, but spreads, like a road lily. Also, each flower is a little flawed. But, I have always thought it was beautiful.

Unknown, but one of my favorites.

Also unknown, but another favorite. I do seem to like the eyed ones.

South Seas

Spiritual Corridor

Finally, I guess it's still close enough to the 4th to enjoy some fireworks. I don't know the real name of these, but I have always thought that they look like fireworks going off.

The ones along the trail are definitely dead. They're all brown and crumbling. But the ones in my yard are doing great. They still haven't bloomed, but they are getting quite tall, maybe just under a foot. As soon as they bloom, I'll post a picture.

You must have cars driving by your place really slow, checking out all your flowers! That South Seas is gorgeous, beyond gorgeous! Wish I had your touch with flowers.

Love your hydrangea!!!

I ordered Spiritual Corridor this year. Can't wait to see it bloom.

Your double daylily is Kwanso. I had never seen a double until I moved here where they were growing along the creek. I thought they were something rare and special--and I still do think they are lovely but they aren't rare:) They're sterile or they might have been hybridized into some fantastic colors.

I like your double petunias. I have a 'thing' about ruffles and lots of petals:) No such thing as too full or frilly.

Love the daylilies, love the double petunias. What's the flower closest to the camera? I like the way it and the hydrangea set each other off with similar color.

You are a little behind me in blooms, and I wish I could go back and enjoy my lillies a bit more, but since I can't, I'll enjoy yours instead!!

After reading my comment, I realized it doesn't make sense. I should have asked what the plant is that's in the photo of the back steps, and it's closest to the camera.

Catching up blogwise and just want to say I love all your garden pix and the wildflower and nature pix on some of the other blog entries. Some of those day lilies are knockouts!
