It only snowed about an inch. Nothing like what they got to the West, near Buffalo. They're snowed in there, and, the last I heard, it's still coming down. We just got enough to make everything pretty.
My poor Asters. They were dead, of course, but, now they're dead and smooshed.
You know, I suppose I really should have gotten myself out there and cut them down, before the snows came. Oh well, they'll be there in the Spring,.

Pretty! I'll come up and eat your munchy-crunchy asters for you, Auntie Louise!
Its amazing how things spring back to life even after the harshest of winters !Every thing looks very pretty in the snow- hope you are keeping warm x
Oh it is all very pretty! Smooshed asters and all! :)
Oh my....I have a friend who flew out of Rochester yesterday just as the snow started...he said the first portion of his flight was ROUGH and there were lots of cookies being tossed.
I love watching it snow

I have a friend (actually, an ex sister-in-law) in Bemus Point and I'm always amazed at how much snow they get and how well prepared they are to deal with it.
Oh your bird action is going to be good.
It's lovely to watch the snow falling, all peaceful and soothing, BUT, I do expect it to be nice and dry when I have to go out. It's also fun to look at the birdie and puppy prints going every where, looking a bit like Northern Quilted, you know?
It's better that you leave the dead asters in the garden. Goldfinches, chickadees, and others eat the seeds.
I was seeing on the news earlier about all the snow up around Buffalo and all those poor people caught in their cars--They were feeling good that the 'back up' was down to 4 miles from 10--How awful!! But your snow on the other hand is just beautiful!! :-)
Louise...we don't have as much snow as you do. Maybe and inch. The Buffalo area sure got blasted. Can't believe it missed us.
You got enough snow to make it pretty. Yes you can cut the asters back in the spring if you don't want to do it now.
One of the fun things last weekend was fiding bird foot prints in the snow.
They can make fun photos. I think the first Christmas cards I made in recent years was of chickadee footprints at the feeder.
You need to go tracking back in your tree area and see who else is around.
Very pretty! We haven't had much snow yet, but I'm sure it's coming. The mountains have been hammered.
Great snow pics! I adore the snow. Makes everything look so pure and untouched.
