Ducky's Goose at Two Months Old

Goose is growing up.  Ducky Ho Oh, the mare that we pulled from New Holland in November of last year, has produced a truly beautiful colt.  He is full of energy, and mischief, but Ducky is a very good Mother and disciplines him when he gets out of hand.  Here's the latest batch of pictures that I have received.

These first two are of Goose at five weeks.  The dark spot on his neck is where the IV was put in.  You may remember that he had a rough start, and ended up in the hospital for a while.

And, here is Goose today.  He's starting to shed his foal coat around his ears and nose.  From that, we're pretty sure that he is going to be a dark bay, much darker than his Mother.  There's not a speck of white on him.  When he's all grown up and under saddle, he ought to be a truly spectacular sight.

I am very tempted to send these pictures to his former owner, to show him what he threw away.  You couldn't ask for a more lovely mare and foal.
