Off to the Grace Gardens, near Seneca Lake again yesterday. I just couldn't let the empty spaces that I had in my new garden go to waste. This time, I was after daylilies that flower in the middle of the season. As only the late bloomers were left, I couldn't get pictures of the ones that I bought, but, let's just say that I can't wait to see this garden next year. Just because, here are a couple of the late bloomers that were left.
I went with Isobelle's Lady again, and we had a great time. We got "misplaced" on the way there, and ended up seeing some lovely scenery, while we got ourselves back on track. And, after we got the daylilies, we ate lunch at a lovely restaurant called Essen House. I had the best New England clam chowder that I have ever had, and a crab quiche that was almost as yummy. I'll go there again.
We ended the day by going to the lookout on the end of Canandaigua Lake. It was a perfect summer day and the lake looked beautiful, so calm and inviting, with just a faint summer haze over the water.
Now, I must repeat every day -- "I will buy no more daylilies this year." Of course, next Spring is a different story.

So for now your gardens are complete? (After you get the new ones in) You sure? Till Spring, you say?
Sounds nice, eating out with Isobelle's Lady.
As always your pictures are great, love them!
The lake photos are gorgeous! Makes me want to teleport there for an afternoon!
How did the race go?
Oops! I had a whinny day yesterday and missed everybodie's blogs, so I didn't see your post on the race. Now I'm caught up - sorry!
great pictures- love the one with the shadow of the clouds .
Good luck with your good intentions of not buying anymore lilies until next year.
Your photos are terrific Louise. I hear you about not buying any more plants......until the spring, that is. LOL
Hi Louise!! What great pictures! You really do live in a beautiful area!!
By the way, I hear you about not buying anymore lilies--I keep saying that about taking in dogs but we both know there's always room for more! :-)))
Beautiful scenery. What a nice day.
What daylilies did you bring home?
