Tomorrow, in the $70K Loudonville at Saratoga, a pretty bay filly will be running. Her name is Lisa's Booby Trap, and she is attracting some interest, because of her story.
First of all, she's from Finger Lakes Race Track. I love Finger Lakes, but, it is a lower level track. They usually get horses who are moving down in class, who can't run at the higher level tracks any more. For a Finger Lakes horse to go to Saratoga is a big deal. The entire track is watching and rooting for her.
Secondly, there is her story. She isn't owned by any big wig, but by a backsider, one of their own. Tim Snyder is, by all accounts, a nice guy, who has spent his life working on the backside. This filly is named for Tim's deceased wife Lisa. Theirs was very much a love story, and, from all accounts, Tim's heart broke when his wife died of cancer.
Rather than me retelling the entire story, you can read it here:

So, as you go about your business tomorrow, please stop and take a minute to think of this pretty girl, and the guy who owns her, as they try to keep their winning tale alive.
