Spa Day
It's very chilly here today. I'll have to wear a sweatshirt for my walk. Looks like the turkey ladies have decided to take a spa day, getting themselves all fluffed up and pretty.
Hello!! It must be the season for turkies, we had 2 in our yard this morning too! I was thrilled to see them, but didn't have my camera--I hope they come back! Cooler here in Virginia too, I loved having the windows open for a change to get the fresh air in!! ~Enjoy your day!!~
Have you named the ladies that come to visit you? The do take full advantage of your hospitality! Beautiful creatures! Chilly? I WISH! (but just for a couple days)
They usually don't bring their chicks to the yard until the chicks are pretty well grown. Once or twice I have gotten a mob of teen aged turkeys in the late summer. They're funny, because they aren't afraid of much and you can get pretty close.
The adults are actually pretty shy. Most of my pictures of them are taken when I'm inside of the house. They run (which is a funny sight in itself) as soon as they see a human. I can see where they would be hard to hunt as they're not only shy, but pretty well camouflaged.

Send some of that cool air down south....like a "turkey" roaster down here....LOL
Enjoy
Did you ever see them with chicks?
I used to hear stories of how difficult these birds were to hunt. Now they stroll thru the suburbs. Hard to understand.

Yes, please send me some cool air too! Here I have quail taking mud baths. So cute. Never see any turkeys though.--Inger
