Out of My Rear Window 5/26/11

It's a cool and cloudy morning in the back yard today.  It's only supposed to get into the lower 70's, but, they say that the sun will come out this afternoon.
The usual denizens of the feeder area are around.
The squirrels are scarfing up the sunnies I put down for them.

They're only stopping to get a drink when they are thirsty.

The chipmunks are busy gathering those same sunnies, for the cold winter that they know is ahead.

Got fleas?
The birds are busy fueling up for a busy day, also.
Purple Finch or House Finch, it's kind of hard to tell.
Female Redwinged Blackbird.
English Sparrows
Male Cardinal

While, on the ground, Mr. Tom Turkey puts in an appearance.

And, Mr. and Mrs. Mallard come to dine.

Here's hoping that you all have as happy and fruitful a Sunday as the critters at the feeder.

I love how so many species of animals are able to dine together while getting along. The photo of the squirrel hanging off the bird bath made me smile.

And the many colors of green in your backyard is so beautiful.
We're still praying for some rain so we can see something other than all the shades of brown around here. Going on 11 months with no rain now.

WOW your assortment of wild life amaze me especially the turkeys.

I just love the little chipmunks. When I went to turn on the garden hose this morning, I startled one this morning and he startled me. Evidently he was near by...he was cussing me big time. LOL Unfortunately our most unusualy wildlife is undesirable. Copperheads are being spotted everywhere. Several friends have had them in their yards too!! WE ARE IN THE city and that is no place for a poisonous snake!! I believe in live and let live but when it comes to those things they are not welcomed. Hubby came up on one right in our natural area where we walk every day. He disposed of it. It was about 14" and where there is one there are more. I'm being very careful. A friend of mine's son was bitten in his yard and spent 2days in the hospital!!
In today's paper there was an article about to fox attacks on folks walking on park trails.

Someday I'm coming up to gobble up all of that corn and to knock all the sunflower seeds out of the feeders! Tee hee. Speaking of gobbling...that turkey has LOVELY colors in his feathers!

Thanks for the visit and the link!

My own yard is very Plain Jane, your photos inspire me to add more color to my yard.

I've stopped feeding the birds, and your post reminds me that I should because I really miss having them around...But there's so much for them to eat, at least I think there is...Maybe I should refill them just in case....I hope you've had a good day and an enjoyable weekend!!
