Common Redpolls and squirrels

The Redpolls are back -- in force.
There are many more females than males, but I did catch a shot of this fine fellow.
Argh!  My yard is a mess.  I can't wait until I can get out and do some cleanup.   The critters don't mind, though.  This squirrel is finding something good to eat.
While this one is doing his tree bark imitation.

Good morning Louise
I love the little red caps the Redpolls are wearing. What a treat to see ground in your yard...I know you must be tired of seeing white everywhere. Thank you for you b-day wishes... the Diva started her day with us singing too her...then she took to her bed. LOL

I think your squirrel is cute - trying to look like the tree!
Don't tell anyone...but I think spring is just around the corner! The white stuff ought to be leaving you soon!

I don't think we get Redpolls here. They're so lovely! Had to LOL at the "barking" squirrel!!! Priceless!!!

Love the little birds! Not sure if we have these here or not, they do look familiar. That squirrel is silly, is he just hanging there, while he is making like the bark?

I hope your Spring comes for you soon, it just feels like an awfully long winter....

You've got lots of RedPolls. Now you have to watch for Hoary RedPolls. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Looked in my 'book' and saw that we don't get Red Polls here. The Purple Finch here look a little similar. Certainly have a 'few' Louise!

Wow, they really are back *in force*! They're pretty birds...

I know the feeling when the snow melts and exposes the detritus of an entire winter... And then it freezes again holding everything in place. Frustrating, isn't it? The animals will help clean up.

I haven't seen that bird here, but that means nothing. The small ones aren't my strong point.
spring isn't far away now ... it's supposed to rain all weekend.

That's the best squirrel-as-treebark imitation I've ever seen! Cute redpolls. They're fun, lively birds to watch.
