Out of My Rear Window 2/13/11

It's going to be a quiet day today, according to the weatherman.  The temperature is actually going to get above freezing, and there should be little or no snow.  That's much different from yesterday, when we had ferocious snow squalls off and on all day.
I'd go out and clean the feeder area, and, no sooner than I would get back in when we'd have another one.  It didn't stop the birds from coming, but I felt really sorry for them.

I was out in the woods when one of those snow squalls hit. The snow was falling so thick and fast I could hardly see my hand in front of my face. Then just as suddenly, it stopped and the sun shone through. Quite dramatic!

OH my gosh what a cold and dreary day you had yesterday. You deserve blue skies and warm sun today!! We hope your birds appreciate your efforts!!

I'm sure the birds appreciate your extra work for their benefit! You sick of snow yet? You sure do have a lot of it! I was thinking everyone's snow was sagging, but you look like you have plenty!

Happy Sunday, Louise!

Many birds, including cardinals, at your feeders, a horse, many feline friends,...I am so jealous. Way back when we still had a hobby farm, I loved having the animals to tend to. maybe, I should be reconsidering my aging hobbies. Hmmm. By the way, I am hoping for blue skies for you also. We had -32, yes, minus 32 degrees a few mornings ago and it never warmed up to -12 until late afternoon. Have a great day.

Yesterday and today have been like early spring up here in the high country....could this be real or is mother nature trying to pull a fast one.....??

Enjoy

Wow you're still getting the snow! I think a lot of the country has warmed up, but you're still getting winter this week!

The birds were no doubt glad of your efforts. Enjoy your 'day of rest' today!

Your photos really capture the day. I can feel the wind blowing and the snow stinging. Nasty! Maybe the nice weather we are currently having will head your way!

Beautiful sun the last two days here! I even saw a couple of Red Winged blackbirds at the feeder--I'm wondering if they brought spring with them?

I love how many colorful birds you have at your feeders in intense snow squalls.

Someone commented on my blog that spring is just around the corner. Hah, not here. We have months before it'll really be spring... I suspect that you have a wait too.

Hope that you're having a good Sunday.

Ferocious is the perfect word for that weather, Louise.

It seems here that the more it snows the more the birds eat!

We have pretty much the same type of weather. It was fine today, all day, but now it's started to snow.

I'm sure the birds are happy they have you :)

Good for you, being such a faithful friend to the birds! I hope your turkey ladies return.

I had a nice day yesterday. Today it's 40 F and raining but supposed to drop to zero tonight.

The weather here has done a 180 too. From 20-below zero and blizzards to temps in the 40's and even 50's this week. It will probably be flooding by the end of the week but today it is beautiful:)
