Enough With the Snow and Cold!

I love Winter, you all know that.  But, this has been a hard one, for many of us.  I'm getting tired of it.  It's 10 degrees F today, and not likely to go much higher.  We're supposed to get lake effect snow this afternoon, two to four inches of it.

So, just because, here's a reminder that Spring and Summer will come again, and the flowers will bloom.

Whee! What a treat! Such a beautiful hydrangea. We've received a few more inches of snow here too and it's another bitterly cold day. But it won't be long now.

Thank you for the reminder...I heard a rumor that spring was on the horizon...however, with our forecast of snow and sleet on Thursday...I find that to be untrue.

Read your post from yesterday Louise--I hope the duck is okay...I know the hawk has to eat and is a bit higher on the food chain...I'm glad I'm at the top of it though....

Anyway, if your pictures don't give us spring fever, nothing will!! I'm still holding out for one last snowfall!!!!

Yes, the flowers warm my heart. We haven't gotten above 0 yet - it is cold. Our furnace can't keep up with it.
I remember long winters in your area. That lake-effect snow can be terrible. But there is much beauty to be found in the snow and in the area throughout the year.
Spring will come...I think...I hope!

What a lovely post! Such beautiful flowers ... it won't be long now.
We're getting heavy snow right now, but it rained a while ago. I'm a little bit tired of THIS type of weather, but I dread summer if it gets as hot as last year.

I really like those cone flowers...

Hold on!! It was -31C or -20 F last night when I took Boom on his 12:30 walk. Those flowers actually look warm. I think winter is just becoming a little wearing now. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Beautiful shots Louise...there's hope for Spring then?

Hi, this is Sandy of wheremyheartlives.com. Thanks for stopping by my blog and making such nice comments...love 'em. Yup, that's my flat dog, "Creel" and his new little Cardigan Welsh Corgi lady friend "Cotton". Creel is a retired racing Greyhound, our second, and such a sweet boy! I too retired on 1/1/11 but was back to work on 1/3/11 doing the same job for less pay...until the house sells. Then we are off to our ranch in New Mexico!

My retirement:
At 4:31 pm on March 31, 2011 I will be officially retired. LOL My first full day of retirement is April 1st which happens to be a Friday and it will be one LOOOOOOOOOG weekend.
I have 37 work days left (not counting weekends). BUTTT I have 4 more days of vacation to take before 3/31/11. So technically I have 33 days remaining.

I've been working at N. C. State University for 25 years.

Definitely great shots, but not what Rochester looks like right now. I'm in Penfield right now and trying to get a hold of you, but have very limited computer access. Check your PM's at the Run in Shed if you have a few minutes. Flowersmom, aka Susan

Lovely post with such pretty flowers! Makes the inside real Springy, outside - it's just beginning to snow. I have had enough of that....

Pretty flowers! Being recently unemployed/retired (not sure which yet) I am sort of enjoying the days at a much slower pace, watching the snow, planning my garden, walking the dogs.
