Out of My Rear Window 10/3/10

Good morning to all on a cold and dreary Sunday here in Western NY.  The temperature is 47 F, and there is a mist in the air.  The bird feeder is quiet, except for a couple of Mourning Doves.
The only splash of color is from the Mums on the corner of the house.  They all fell over in the big rain that we had on Thursday, but, they are still bright and cheery looking.

It is a bit nippy this morning, it's a little difficult for me to adjust the the a.m. temps but during the day, it's been so pleasant here, open windows and a slight breeze and pretty blue skies with puffy clouds. We could use some of your drear and rain though........

Good Sunday to you!

You've got the same weather we had--I put a little heavier blanket on the bed last night and even put on flannel pj's right from the dryer--All the comforts of a fall night!

Yellow mums are my absolute favorites!!

We had thunder and rain, but very little compared to the East coast. It is cool in the mornings and pleasantly warm during the day. I love this weather.

A bit cold and crisp here, but the sun is shinning and and the sky is that amazing Autumn blue. I don't have many squirrels here around my house (because of the dogs and cats) but have a few stalwart souls that have been venturing up here because of the hackberry tree. I've been enjoying watching one of them and put some nuts out for him. You can tell he is desperate to get some stores put up before the cold hits. Have a great week.

Dear Lady Louise,
Thank you for continuing to visit my blog. My lady says you have a lovely garden and therefore it is clear that you do not have enough goats. Perhaps you would like to come and visit us and take home a goat? I know you would be a good candidate for goat kisses. Goats would also help clean up that birdseed. I like birdseed very much and I call it goatseed.
Have a great week!

Fall arrived in NC over the weekend. We had nights in the 50's and days in the 60's...finally it has been hot, hazy and humid forever!!!

Our birds are visiting more too. We last saw a hummer on October 2....last year our last spotting was 9/29!!! I'll keep food in the feeder until it freezes. We often had strays.

FYI I put in a call this am to my HR rep to discuss my pending retirement 4/1/11...whoopee!!!

Happy Monday

We are still in the 70's. It's gorgeous. This time last year we had snow.
