Still Courting

The turkey ladies were back at the feeder today.  And, they brought along their beau.  But, there is one big difference.  There were only four ladies.  At first I was worried, but, then, I started to think.  Could it be, could one of the ladies possibly be nesting?  I hope so.  Maybe later this year there will be little turkeylets hanging around the yard!
Meanwhile, Mr. "I'm so handsome I've got to give your heart palpitations" was still strutting his stuff.

Good side
Other good side.
Who can resist this handsome and sexy face side?
I wonder if this is where they get the "All puffed up" cliche?

ha ha! i wouldn't be surprised to find that "all puffed up" comes from behavior like this.

i bet those turkey peeps (poults?) are very cute.

I believe that birds are the origin of "all puffed up"

I saw a flock of wild turkey on Sunday while I was busy getting "lost" trying to get someplace. When I backtracked I thought, I should take a pic for Louise

but they had moved on.

Here is hoping for little poults in a month or so.

Oh, that's wonderful, Louise! A turkey displaying in your own backyard! Thanks for sharing these great pictures. I'll keep my fingers crossed for turkeylets later in the season.

MOL that is one handsome, suave, man turkey ...I'd love to play with is tail feathers.
Speaking of babies Mom was delighted to see we have baby bluebirds in our bb box. Two have hatched and there is one egg. We suspected they were there but Mom doesn't like to bother them unless she sees the Mom fly away for a break...that happend right after supper last night.

David did a good job making my suet feeder, thanks to your photos. We've had a couple of flickers within feet of it - I think they'll be feeding soon.

After having watched the eaglecam for hours, I understand perfectly how you feel about the missing bird. I worry about the eaglets. One looks ... not so good.

These are impressive birds! I've never seen turkeys in the wild. Here we have turkey vultures.

Louise, these are really incredible pictures--He's really handsome, and I can't believe the girls are just ignoring him--Does he make any 'noise' while he's strutting his stuff??

I hope the girl who is MIA today is okay too!

Do they make noise while courting?

Turkeylets would be wonderful.
