Goldfinch Glory

The Common Redpolls have definitely gone.  I haven't seen a one in a few days.  Now that they are no longer hogging the feeders, the other small birds are venturing back.  That includes this lovely Goldfinch pair, sampling the sunflowers.  The male is in all of his mating glory, all the better to impress his trim and tidy little mate.

I'm jealous about your Goldfinch changing now. But then you're in the south. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Hi Lousie....
I love gold finches...especially this time of year they males are so bright. I bought some special finch food and for once the advertisment is correct they love it.

Oh, I love my goldfinches...as a matter of fact, they are the state bird for Washington. I don't think I will see them though when we move to New Mexico.

Pretty! We are supposed to have them in our state, but I don't recall seeing them. They'd look great with our bright blue birds!

I love goldfinches but we see them only once a year or so. Thanks for a peek!

It's lovely to see them dressed in brilliant yellow again, isn't it? I imagine you'll miss your redpolls, but not their restaurant bill!

I love the goldfinches! One of my favorites, and I welcome them back each summer. It will be a few more weeks before we see any at home though.
