I have a confession to make

I am not one of those people who just loves the holiday season.  Between that, and the short days, I become a grumpy, unpleasant person, who has absolutely no get up and go.

You probably have noticed my lack of posts lately.  Primarily, it's because I just can't get my rear in gear to post anything.  In fact, I can't even think of things to post.  Heck, I can't even get up the energy to visit my blogging friends.

So, I think I'm going to take a formal break.  I'll undoubtedly be back after the New Year.  I hope that at least some of you will still want to share experiences with me, but, I wouldn't blame you if you just kicked my butt out of the door.

I will miss you Louise. Take care of yourself, and I know I won't be going anywhere but wait til you return and I get to see more of your beautiful pictures and hear your experiences outdoors.

I hope that you can enjoy your break.

I'm not a big fan of the holidays either. I just ignore them, as much as I can. But, then, my family all arrive to stay at my house for xmas, and there's no ignoring that :)

We'll miss you.

I wish I had words of wisdom to help you feel better

more fruit and veg less carbs is all I can think of.

I have gathered my photos for my A- Z effort, Tis the season of hard to get inspired to get out and get moving, that is for sure.

Perhaps this is a good time to look for classes thru the regional university.

I am going to miss your Sunday morning window shot. At least bring us your first snow!

I do not like the holidays either, I would just as soon skip them altogether this year and go straight to January, so I didn't have to listen to all the bubbling about mistletoe and holly.

Enjoy your break, but keep your camera handy! One never knows what will show up in your back yard!

Not going to kick your butt out the door, unless it's to kick it to someplace warm and sunny enough to revive your spirits. Regarding the holidays, I hate how our consumer culture has turned a lovely celebration of hope into a frenzy of buying and desperate partying. I'm lucky I have a daughter who puts on a Christmas feast and all I have to do is show up (bringing pies, of course).
Looking forward to further views from your window of your amazing local wildlife. Take heart!

Heaven knows I've been absent enough since we arrived on the ranch in June. So many things to do...creative juices not flowing when exhausted. Enjoy what you can of the holidays, remember it's about friends and family, not Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc.

(I DID post some pretty birds today though...)

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I feel your angst. Thanksgiving is OK, but I begin to build up pressure and stress from then until mid-January.Then I used to get really down due to lack of light until mid March or so, but now that I'm out more I do feel better from that. But Christmas is stress, STRESS, STRESS!!!! It all has to do with my hubby's family and I feel like I get backed into a corner. I don't enjoy it. I don't have fun. I don't feel festive! I just want to scream! Listen closely... maybe you'll hear it around that time!
Enjoy your break. Do something fun for yourself! We'll see you back on the blog when you feel like it!

I'm right there with ya trying to get my rear in gear.
My kidlets have a bazillion activities they need me to take them to or do with them, this time of year, but all I want to do is stay inside with a hot cup of tea, and just read and snuggle with my doggies. :)

Hang in there,
~Lisa

I can empathize - Christmas isn't my favourite time of year either. Even though it summer over on this side of the planet. Enjoy your break.

Louise, I simply don't believe you are ever an unpleasant person, but I sure know what you mean about needing a break. Hope you have a good rest and a change and a Merry Christmas and hope to see you online in the new year.

Not only do I miss you when I don't see your posts, but I worry about you too. As do many of your blogger friends, I'm sure. So thanks for letting us know you are taking a break. It's good to know you have your kitties to snuggle with. A purring cat always made me feel better. Looking forward to hearing from you on the new year or before.

It sounded like a: 'Bless me Father for I have....'. You are more than forgiven for your tardiness!
Was wondering too but I hear from my FB source that you were around occasionally there, so I felt things were OK.
You know about the great effects of Vitamin D3? Especially this time of year...we would be a mess without it. We take 2000 mg a day. Trust me it may help you get through it a bit.
So we will see you after the holidays....such a waste of time I feel too. Every day should feel like a holiday in my books.
Take care and see you soon.
Jim
