What a bright, and beautiful Mother's Day! The sun is shining and it's going to get into the mid 60s today. A perfect day for gardening, and that is what I intend to do, just as soon as it gets a little bit warmer.
There have been a lot of visitors this week. Many of them have come in pairs. This is the Mallard duck pair that comes faithfully, every day.
A Mourning Dove pair
And the Canada goose pair, who spend every day eating and lounging at the spa.
Mr. Tom Turkey, however, has given up on his courting, and now comes by himself. He's got to be tired and hungry after all those weeks of strutting and showing off.
And, I solved the mystery this week, of why my bird bath has been losing water so rapidly. The culprit? Mr. Canada goose.
It's just the right height, I guess.
Have a very Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

Ooh dear, I had to laugh at the goose poking his head over the bird bath, so determined.
Yes, everything is looking lovely your way, and what a variety of visitors you have, so exciting.

The goose made me laugh out loud!
Oh you can feel the bright sun shine
I LOVE the second cut throat goose picture
The Tom likely lost a lot of weight. These birds usually drop a ton during the season
Still have my fingers crossed for teen-aged gobblers before long
I hope you have a nice day in the sun. Look for the early sign of those Hellborine for me.
What a fun post!! Glad you're back!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

As usual a wonderful cross section of visitors to your garden Louise I`am envious !
Louise, you could start charging these critters admission! lol
Great photos and they are so regular with their visits.
I was so happy to see a comment of yours on my post of today. I think I've been a bit worried or at least wondered. I'm struggling to stay afloat amidst a bunch of emotions about getting injured again. Hearing from old friends helps a lot.--Inger
That goose guzzler photo sure made me laugh! How lovely and green your yard looks. My grass is growing tall already, but I'm very reluctant to cut it because it is full of flowering violets.
Hi Louise! It was so nice to hear from you today! It's also great to see a post too--I love your Sunday posts and seeing whose visiting you! The goose has given me a pretty good grin!! :-D
