The King's Speech

I just heard that this movie was nominated for 12 Oscars.  I hope it wins a whole bunch of them, but especially best picture, best actor and best supporting actor.  Honestly, this is the best movie that I have seen in ages.  Your emotions are totally involved, from beginning to end.  The story is uplifting and the acting is wonderful.  I'm not a modern movie person, but this one will be a classic.

OK, ok, and Colin Firth is one handsome man, but, honestly, he could have looked like the real King George and I still would have loved this film.

I saw that movie, too, and loved it! Helena Bonham Carter is also great as the queen.

I am looking foreword to seeing this one, I haven't heard a bad word about it, so will definitely see when it comes out on DVD. Theaters are just too loud.

It's on my Netflix list when it gets released on DVD. Thanks for the "priority" tip!

Thanks for the review! I have been wanting to see it. Funny thing, I just saw Colin Firth in Mamma Mia last night, so this would be quite the switch in roles!

Good to know Louise. WE are very selective of the movies we see....when you pay $8 or 9 each to see one. We'll have to be sure to see this.

We're currently watching Masterpiece Theater's Downton Abbey on PBS. It is wonderful!! I've learned so much too.

Oh, yes, on my list. Though we'll probably wait for the DVD -- almost never go to the theater.

I count this movie as one of the 5 best I have ever seen.

I loved the Elizabeth George relationship.

I wanted it to go on.

and Colin Firth yup. Did you notice who was the speach therapists wife?????!?

And yes HBC what an amazing performance. If you now go and study pictures and films of Queen Elizabeth, you will see how well she captured her manner of walk and poise
